For many women, hair loss is lonely—a quiet pain that is both grieved and grappled with, whether it’s caused by alopecia, chemotherapy treatment or something else. My alopecia journey began well before I was aware of society's beauty standards. At just 18 months old, I was briefly untouchable from society’s expectations, however it was only a matter of time before the bullying began: a cruel and constant barrage of not enough-ness. Wigs were an instant confidence boost as a late teen, prompting a freefall into feeling like myself without fear of judgement or rejection.
My vision for DMUSE is to reframe the hair loss journey for women across the globe as a rebirth of self. Whether we are giving back to hospitals and charities, drawing and creating not-seen-elsewhere eyebrow transfers, or expertly crafting someone’s very first wig—we want our products and support to be a safety blanket during times of vulnerability and a freeing symbol of self-expression when creativity calls.
